Colton

My boy turns two today

As I quickly sit down to write this I feel a huge sense of accomplishment. My little boy turned two today and all I could think of is how proud I am of him. I can honestly say, as of today he has exceeded my/our expectations of raising a child. LOL our next child has some pretty big shoes to fill, not that we will ever tell them that, but Colton has set the bar pretty high. Don't get me wrong it hasn't been all gravy, but the good heavily out way the bad and for that, Heather and I are very blessed and thankful for him.

Happy 2nd Birthday son, your mom and I love you more than you will ever know, you are our everything. I truly look forward to each day I get to spend with you! Oh and please be easy on us this year as we know we are entering the "terrible twos"

Here are some shots taken from the past couple of months, wish I had time to post more, but you can find more on my personal Instagram feed found HERE

Sorry peeps I wanted to announce something about Colton today, but was advised not to right now. So instead here are some images of Colton from Tuesday using the new Archetype Film collection from VSCO Film 5. They make software that makes digital images emulate film, I love them and what they do, but more on them later.

An evening at the beach

For those of you who follow my personal Instagram feed (@pelli_life) some of these images will look familiar. For those that missed it, I spent Saturday evening with my son Colton and instead of doing the same ol thing I decided we were going to go to the beach to check out the sunset. So I grabbed my trusty Fuji x100s camera and we were off to Corona Del Mar. Now that Colton is older this experience was much more enjoyable for the both of us, I was able to let him be free and play without having to be eagle eyes and watch over him the whole time, which of course allowed me to take some cool photos. I pretty much teared up just watching him do his thing, there is no denying that he is now a toddler and not my baby anymore.

Colton Turns 18 months old today

Today our little man turns a year and half! Holy sheet where did the time go? It honestly seems like it was yesterday when we were bringing him home from the hospital completely scared and excited for the unknown. Knowing that we are now responsible for this little gift from God was a pretty awesome feeling, but at the same time it totally freaked me out. BUT now looking back I can laugh and enjoy the experiences we had for the past 18 months and truly look forward to experiencing those feelings again when ever we have our 2nd child.

Colton has been a real blessing for Heather and I, he brings us unbelievable joy and laughter regardless of the fact that he doesn't like to sleep and keeps us on our toes almost all day long. I'm sure some of you parents out there can relate, this boy is one busy little dude, climbing, running and talking non-stop. It amazes me how he just can't keep still for more than 10 mins, he is just so independent and curious that he constantly needs information to keep him entertained (I wonder who he got that from?). At the same time he is always bossing us around telling us what to do, where to sit, what to feed him, it blows my mind (guess who he got that from?). What a perfect mix, I think....All I know is we LOVE him to death and couldn't be more thankful for him.

Last night when we were eating dinner, I glanced over at him while he was eating some bread, just watching him feed himself and enjoy that bread honestly brought a tear to my eye. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but this time it was just different I can't explain it, he just looked so grown up and made me so happy.

Anyways...Happy 18 month bday to my boy Colton! Here are some pics I took last week just messing around at the park. BTW I am still wondering why he doesn't have more hair??? Is this normal?

Moving right along...

Ok seriously this month of June has flown by so fast! Going into the month I was stoked, I posted 2 times in 2 days with plans for more posts to follow shortly after. LOL 25 days later and I am just now posting. Well needless to say it's not because I am not busy shooting, but it's because I have been super busy shooting. I have soooo much to share I just don't know where to begin? I have new apps to talk about, stories to share, pictures of Colton, weddings to show off, an engagement session and a few family portrait sessions. Playing catch up is no fun so therefore I am just going to put my head down and charge away, I will do my best to post as much as can in the next few days to let you know I am still alive and shooting...

So for now, since I like to always post a picture with my posts. Here is a shot of Colton from his one year photo session that I still have yet to post (actually it was taken during his 13th month session, oops). I just freaking love this face!
