Colton's last day of PreSchool

Blink.....I can't believe last Tuesday (June 7th) was Colton's last day of his first year of Pre-School. I remember sending him off last September and feeling like wow, what just happened? Our baby boy is now going to school and just like that he's already done. People don't lie when they say, your kids grow up so fast make sure you take the time to enjoy them. Luckily being a photographer I've been documenting his life since the moment he arrived. But even then it's crazy how much he has grown up so quick.

Having noticed this, I think that is why it's been so hard for me to not be around Rowan and my family, I seriously just want to be with them all day everyday. It's literally taken me 4 months to snap out of it and get back into my groove with work and shooting.

If you want to see his first day of school post you can view that HERE. I posted it on my work blog because at the time I didn't want to have two separate blogs like I have now.

Some of his interests today are:
Teenage Mutan Ninja Turtles
Skylanders Trap Team
Kids YouTube (Chase's Corner and Stampy) he loves studying games online
Chasing my drone and being chased by it
Swimming in the pool
Going exploring with me

Here he is with his teacher Mrs. Moon, a few of his classmates and his first ever crush Penny.

Happy 4th Birthday Colton

Do you remember when you were in High School and you thought to yourself, I have to be here for four years? I totally thought four years was an eternity back then. Today, four years apparently is now a blink of an eye. I can't believe my little baby boy turned four years old today? I'm blown away right now. I remember the day we were driving him home from the hospital thinking ok, what do we do now??? Shoot, 4 years later we have a smart, witty, beautiful little man, with a slightly fractured elbow, yup all boy.

Happy Birthday Colton, your mom and I couldn't be more proud of you and what you have accomplished so far, we look forward to many more years of laughter and proud moments. We love you more than the world.

Here are a few shots I took this AM, the boy with a thousand faces, and I love every SINGLE one of them.

Hanging with Colton in Studio

This past Saturday I had to photograph a few head shots for a couple of clients in studio aka my garage. While I setting up I usually have to borrow my son Colton to do some test shots, before I use to beg him to sit there and pose. This time around he not only helped me setup on his own, but after I was done shooting my clients, he came back and wanted me to take more photos. Me being the photographer and a proud dad, how could I say no?

Welcome to my personal blog

Part of my agenda this year was to figure out a way to separate my business and personal photos. I take so many photos for work and personal that I don't know where or how I want to consistently share them. I mean I post one or two shots on Instagram, but I don't think that is good enough, since I'm not a big Facebooker that doesn't work either. I decided when my son Colton was born that it's going to be extremely important to document my personal/family life, now that my second child will be joining us next month I feel more than ever it's going to be important to have a space to share my photos. Luckily with my website provider Squarespace, I am able to have multiple blog sites on my account, so there ya go problem solved. I will have a blog strictly for work and of course this one, for my personal life.

What should you expect to see here? Simple! Anything non-work related. You will see photos of my life, you will see different styles of how I edit photos, you will see me on more of normal everyday level, the good, bad, sad and happy. I'm excited to share, post and give. I hope you can follow along, I would love to have you!

During this downtime from weddings, it's the perfect opportunity for me to bond with my boy. What I love is that we both enjoy going out to explore, you will soon find out. One of our favorite spots is going to the Corona Del Mar Tidepools. Now that I'm shooting exclusively with FujiFilm cameras, I take it everywhere I go, something I didn't do with my Canon gear. I'm so excited for this personal blog...I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner??? My mistake! Ok enough talk, here are some shots from the other day.
